  •              Poulsbo, Washington

Even though we came to Bremington to visit Linda's brother and his family, we are staying in Poulsbo at the Eagle Tree RV Park. The beautiful park is operated by Lyle and Sue George, and has some of the largest trees you ever saw, which is common for this part of Washington State. So today we got a tour of the Poulsbo marina and the many tourist attractions in the village.

    Pendleton, Oregon
Pulling out of Eagle Tree RV Camp this morning ended up being more of a job than I thought it would be. The drive to Pendleton (not using the ferry to Seattle) meant that we would swing south to Tacoma and then back to pick  up Hwy 90 southeast to Pendleton. That meant that it would be about a 6 hour plus drive and if we could get out at 9 am, we'd be there by 3. No such luck.My neighbor was leaving at the same time and we couldn't get hooked up until he left so it was more like 10 am before we got out of there. Since we had a reservation anyway it didn't matter what time we got here, we'd have a spot.Good thing. When we got here we had the last spot on the property.

Lake MardeeSouth of Tacoma is Lake Mardee which is a part of the Wenatchee National Forrest.                                            Boise, Idaho

One thing I learned on two gas stops in Oregon. A State law requires an attendant to pump the gas. I was wondering why the attendant was trying to beat me to the gas hose.

We are in prettytight quarters here in Boise. The Mountain View RV park does not have much space between spots and the turnout to exit the park is just wide enough to stay out of the bushes. We had some serious hill climbing coming through Oregon. In fact I believe those were the toughest hills to get over of any we have had the whole trip. That was I-84.

    Salt Lake City,

Believe it or not, we actually got out of the RV park on time this morning. That doesn't happen too often. That means that we will be rolling in to Salt Lake City about 4 pm counting stops for gas and food, also walking the dogs on each stop. We are going to stay parked in Linda's daughter and her husband's driveway. They have a driveway that you can park about 8 cars in so we  have enough room to back the whole trailer along side their house. Since Tom is a licensed electrician, he had all the hook-ups ready for us when we got here.

The trip from Boise was easy and smooth. Idaho and Utah have some good roads and some of the area looked alot like New Mexico, which is coming up pretty soon.

    The road to Salt Lake.

Besides a very good road, there was activity harvesting hay and bailing operations all along I-84 andI-15.

Leaving Eagle Rest  RV Park  for Pendleton, Oregon.

One thing you can say about the roads in Washington; they are smooth along Hwy 90 and really a good trip as far as driving. The farther south we went the less hilly terain we saw.The southern part of Washington is all rolling hills and farm land.We saw alot of browned out brush.Right in the middle of this brown tract is a circular area with crops. As we crossed the Oregon State Line the temp was 104.  This is a shot of the rear view mirror temp gauge. I wasn't sure that was correct but as soon as I stoped for gas and got out of the 70 degree temp inside the Tahoe, I knew was was at least 104 outside.
