Brookside RV Park We were assigned to our spot and this place is full! So much for the cut back in RV travel. Well, maybe there is, I can't be sure, but one thing I know is almost every park we have been to is full or almost full by the end of the day. In our line of RVs we just saw a super-sized diesel pusher from Texas  pull in the very last spot. That was about 8:30 PM local time (pacific).   Brookside RV ParkBrookside RV Park is in a bowl at the rear of the park.Brookside RV ParkJust about every spot is occupied.

                              Bellingham weather.

We're going to be in Bellingham, Washington for a few days before going over to Bremerton, on the other side of Puget Sound, to visit Linda's brother and his family. We need some time to get everything cleaned up and ship shape before visiting anyone we know. There are some service requirments sch'd for the Tahoe this afternoon (Friday) like oil and filter change, etc.
It just got washed and vacuumed already and also we have some shopping to get done. Bellingham seens to be a great little community. This park has photos autographed of movie stars that have stayed here in their RV's and it is a real nice park. The manager says you cannot get in here most times without a reservation.
    The Scary Part:
    Tunnel

You haven't lived (or died) until you pass two semi-trailers coming at you with a closing rate of over a 100 MPH in a two lane tunnel while in a turn. In Canada most semis have tandom trailers and about 24 wheels. Put two of those togeather, about 10 feet apart and you have a very scary event. I had my window down to get this shot and a couple of seconds later we were in the turn and if I hadn't had my seat belt on I might have been sucked out of the window. I took a quick glance in my side window mirror  and it appeared that there was less than a foot of clearance between them and our trailer. WOW!
    Dusty Road
I was wondering where all this haze was coming from. Here we are being lead through by a "Pilot Vehicle" while the street sweeper takes care of the right lane.

The drive from Stewart to Burns Lake was really smooth. We passed through Smithers, BC and it looked like a modern town in the lower 48. We must be getting close! Here are some scenes from the drive and the camp here at Burns Lake.

  Still have some mountains.

We saw alot of poles anchored this way.

The road to Prince George

was a smooth 2 lane road, as has been most of the roads in this part of Canada (smooth south of Dease Lake). Prince George has all the things a modern medium sized town in the lower 48 has...Costco, Home Depot, Walmart and malls galore. It has over 75,000 people and this RV park doubles as a mobile home park and RV park. They are separated of course and it has a fast internet access point as did Burns Lake, which makes a big difference as far as I am concerned.

There are several large lakes and rivers on this streach of road; McLease Lake, the Quesnel  River and its lake, the Williams Lake and more. It's no wonder that most of the RV's we saw on the road had a canoe straped on it some where or was towing a boat. This is a boating pardise.

Quesnel, BCOnce we got south of Dease Lake, last week, small towns we went through look pretty much like ones in the lower 48. Walmarts, Taco Bell, KFC etc....... just like home.A & W at Williams LakeHere is an A & W at Williams Lake.

On the road to Bellingham

On the road to BellinghamThere are hundreds of streams and rivers in this area of British Columbia.Road to BellinghamEven though most all the roads in Canada are two lanes, it was good road from Cache Creek to drive on and there were frequent passing lanes.Road to BellinghamHere the road (TC-1) cuts right through a moutain.
