We got a good start out of Albuquerque this morning without any unexpected problems, filled up and rolled out on I-40; a straight shot to Amarillo and the Amarillo RV Ranch which is on the north side of I-40. The drive was fine. Not a whole lot of scenery to get excited about but after what we've seen, whose complaining.

The Amarillo RV Ranch Park pictured at the right is an outstanding park. I believe it was possibly the best of any we stayed at based on the amenities. It even has an indoor swimming pool.

Linda and I were both anxious to get a early start on this final drive home to Fort Worth. Mainly bexause it is the most miles we have driven in a day on the whole trip and of course we were really ready to be home.

To be honest, this part of Texas doesn't have any of the striking scenery that we saw on a daily basis in the northwest.

One thing interesting we saw coming into Amarillo yesterday was a wind turbine farm that streached about 3 miles. There must have been over 75 of them.

Coming down 287 to Fort Worth we passed one of the famous Burnett Ranch properties. Their brand is 6666 known as the "Four Sixes". Everyone should take a look at this most interesting web page:

    http://www.6666ranch.com/

The history of the Four Sixes and the Burnett Ranch is a very interesting story.

We got home about 5 PM Central Time after backing our trailer into it's stall. It was good to be home. Key and Juliet acted like they had never left...going through their daily routine of checking every square inch of the fence line in the back yard and patio area.

Tomorrow I will get the photos up that we have for this leg to Fort Worth. We drove a total of 10,889 miles and we were gone 72 days.

If anyone wants info about cost, you'll have to email me.

Driving along clicking off the miles, when we hit the State Line the road changed to a smooth light gray and it got very quite inside......even the dogs stopped barking...for awhile. It was magic.
